SEPT. 7 TEDXTEEN
One of the most exciting sites I have stumbled on in recent years has been TED talks which started 25 years ago as a 4 day conference. It's now a website where there are videos, podcasts and transcripts of talks from some of the most exciting thinkers, activists, scientists, environmentalists and artists of our times. 'TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TED has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. I will add various speakers that I think may inspire you, but in the meantime explore their new site for teens:

We are 6,900 living languages in 195 countries. Together we face global problems that seem overwhelming. At TedXTeen they have collected a group of young people who are making a difference in the world 'who are tackling the big questions and big problems with passion and action'.Visit the site, watch the video clips, follow the links. Who are you hereos?
